About Vonda Muncy

My interest in holistic health began when I was very young. My mother always felt that antibiotics should only be taken when absolutely necessary. As a result, she was always seeking other ways to support the body’s healing mechanisms. Acupuncture was one of those methods.

I spent most of my adult life working as an aircraft dispatcher and operations manager for the airlines. My spare time was spent learning as much as I could about various natural healing modalities. When I “retired” from the airlines I knew I would pursue a second career in healing.

I obtained a Master’s of Science degree in acupuncture from Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver, Colorado. A year later, I returned to school and earned a Master’s of Science in Chinese Medicine. Shortly after, I earned a doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.

When I am not in the clinic, I am training in aikido, gardening, hiking, playing Settlers of Catan or thrifting. My love of acupuncture is only exceeded by my love of learning. Some weekends I travel to conferences or trainings to bring new information and/or techniques to my clinic.

Vonda has been wonderful to work with as I work through some hip challenges. She is very attentive to the needs and progress - seeking to understand what is working and what is not. The acupuncture services have been helping to provide relief when other avenues have not. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.

For the past 6 years I have received acupuncture once a month to help alleviate some long-term side effects of cancer treatment. So when I moved to Castle Pines a little over a year ago, one of the first items on my “to do list” was to find a good acupuncturist. I have definitely found that in Dr. Vonda Muncy at Castle Pines Acupuncture. Dr. Muncy’s acupuncture approach has been highly effective in helping me deal with ongoing bone pain, as well as tooth pain that I experienced temporarily. She gives great attention to every detail to make sure you are relaxed and comfortable during your treatment. Dr. Muncy is a practitioner who seeks to work with her patient to achieve good results and I have benefited greatly from her care. Some people ask me why I have acupuncture every month and what I say is that, the effects of acupuncture can best be proven in the negative. In other words, you may not understand the positive effect of each treatment in the moment, but if you miss a treatment, you will be very aware of the negative effect not having that treatment has on your wellness. I highly recommend Castle Pines Acupuncture, and specifically Dr. Vonda Muncy.

Vonda was very caring and attentive to a problem I had with my jaw. My jaw had dislocated and popped back into place, but still left radiating pain through the jaw and neck. With Vondas treatment I was pain free after four sessions.

Vonda was recommended to me by a friend and I’m so thankful to be a client of hers for the last month. I had low energy, fatigue, dizziness and shortness of breathe. As an avid runner these were very odd symptoms as I’m generally very healthy. She really listened to my concerns and we began treatment two times a week. I noticed improvements the first week and after 6 session I began to feel like my normal self. Vonda listens and is incredibly professional. I highly recommend her.

Vonda is amazing! Not only as a person but as an acupuncturist too!!! I've been trying all sorts of alternative medicine trying to cure narcolepsy which is a rare disease. I visited Vonda for my first acupuncture visit ever and she suggested great health advice overall and even changed things up over my sessions to make things as comfortable as possible for me! By my third session she had already increased my sleep from 2 hours to three! If you are looking for someone who can provide results Vonda is absolutely worth seeing!

Vonda is very thorough and takes time to understand what is causing pain or discomfort. Each session is different based on what is painful that day. At this point, I have had 5 treatments and feel much better. My energy level is also up as a result of my acupuncture treatments. I recommended Castle Pines Acupuncture for sure! I now have my husband going too!
